*Latest extract of Baptism Certificate

Catholics who wish to marry in the Church are required to obtain a recent extract of their baptismal certificate from the parish where they were baptized. This certificate includes not only their baptismal record but also any sacraments they have received, such as Confirmation and Marriage. The purpose of this extract is to confirm that the person has not been previously married in the Church, ensuring they are free to enter into the Sacrament of Matrimony.

For non-Catholics marrying a Catholic:

You need to get a Statutory Declaration from a Commissioner of Oaths, that you have not been married / not currently married, and is free to enter into marriage.

After completion of CMPC, make an appointment with the parish priest for a PNI.

Documents required by the Church for PNI are:

1. Original and photostat copies of:

  • Baptism certificate (latest extract*) of Catholic party

  • Confirmation certificate of Catholic party

  • CMPC Certificate

  • Birth certificate of both parties

  • identity card of both parties (if foreigner, copy of passport)

2. Individual passport-sized photographs of the bride and groom

3. Photocopy of identity cards of the 2 witnesses

4. Letter of consent from your parish priest if you are getting married in another parish.

(All photocopies must be provided in A4 size)
